About the Project
The Widow and Single Women Help Center is a dedicated social welfare initiative of SHAKYA INTERNATIONAL – Human Resources Foundation. The project aims to empower widows, abandoned women, divorced women, and other single women by providing them with opportunities for education, skill development, financial independence, legal support, healthcare awareness, and emotional well-being.
Many women face social discrimination, economic hardship, and limited access to essential services after losing a spouse or becoming the sole provider for their families. This project has been established to ensure that every woman can live with dignity, confidence, and self-reliance.
Our Help Center provides counseling, guidance, and access to government welfare schemes while helping beneficiaries develop vocational skills such as tailoring, computer literacy, handicrafts, beauty and wellness, food processing, digital marketing, and small business management. These programs enable women to earn sustainable incomes and become financially independent.
The project also organizes regular health check-up camps, mental health counseling sessions, nutrition awareness programs, legal aid workshops, and financial literacy training. Women receive information about their legal rights, inheritance laws, domestic violence protection, social security benefits, pensions, insurance schemes, and banking services.
To encourage entrepreneurship, SHAKYA INTERNATIONAL – Human Resources Foundation supports eligible women through self-help groups (SHGs), micro-enterprise development, market linkages, and business mentoring. We also collaborate with government departments, corporate CSR partners, educational institutions, and community organizations to maximize employment opportunities and social inclusion.
Our volunteers conduct community outreach programs to identify women in need and connect them with appropriate support services. The project also promotes leadership development, confidence building, and active participation in community development activities.
